Re:

Update on Fos sur Mer Strike

France: Update on Fos sur Mer Strike

Dockworker's unions at Fos sur Mer are now striking 6 hours of each 24 hour work period. The Eurofos Port Terminal (servicing APL, CMA-CGM, Hanjin, Hyundai, KLine, MOL, MSC, MISC, OOCL, UASC) will remain closed to all new export containers until Wednesday August 4th.

Containers will be loaded on the following vessels which are maintaining their port call at Fos: Hapag Pembroke, Hapag Power, Hanjin Montreal, MSC Jenny and MSC Maria Laura.

Vessels that have cancelled their port call at Fos are: APL Hamburg, Hapag Los Angeles Express, Hapag Valencia Express, CC Amber. The local JF Hillebrand office is making alternative arrangements for shipments scheduled on these vessels.

ZIM and CMA-CGM have announced congestion surcharges and we expect other carriers to follow suit:

  • CMA-CGM will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 75 per TEU effective August 20th
  • ZIM Lines will apply a congestion surcharge of USD 45 per TEU effective August 26th

We will continue provide updates on further developments. For status on any pending orders check with your operations representative at 732-388-0101 or login to AXIS for further detail.
