South Africa - MSC Announces Congestion Recovery Surcharge:

Be advised that MSC has announced a Congestion Recovery Surcharge of USD100 per TEU effective June 18, 2010 to offset the costs incurred by the industrial action affecting South Africa ports and railways that is now into its second week. Transnet, the port and railway operator, advises that union talks have been rescheduled for Friday May 21st on the latest settlement offer.

Summary of Congestion Recovery Surcharges on containers loading/discharging at South Africa ports:
Safmarine: USD 75 per TEU effective 5/19/10
MOL: USD 70 per TEU effective 5/19/10
Maersk: USD 75 per TEU effective 5/19/10
MSC: USD 100 per TEU effective 6/18/10
