Re:

Update on South Africa port strikes

Update on strike action in South Africa:

The SATAWU and UTATU unions have proceeded with strike action as of 6:00 am today Monday May 10th with varying impact at ports of Durban, Cape Town and Port Elizabeth. Cape Town has only limited picket action and has two crews still working on vessel operations. Port Elizabeth is also reporting there is limited work but the strike has stopped all vessel and container operations at Durban port. Negotiations with the unions are underway and the strike action is expected to cease sometime on Tuesday if the latest offer is accepted. We will update as further information becomes available.
